City of Charleston Hosting Small Business Opportunity Expo March 31st at the Gaillard Center
Registration is now open for the City of Charleston’s 2023 Small Business Opportunity Expo, which will take place on Thursday, March 31st, from 9 am to 5 pm at the Charleston Gaillard Center.
The purpose of the expo is for organizations and municipal partners to showcase their services, contractual needs, and upcoming opportunities to small businesses – with a particular focus on outreach to minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBEs), such as Latinx and veteran-owned businesses.
This year’s Small Business Opportunity Expo will feature:
- 40+ exhibitors
- “Let’s Do Business” presentations on procurement and contracting opportunities with City of Charleston’s Procurement, Capital Projects, Parks, and Stormwater Departments as well as the City of North Charleston and Charleston County
- Table Talk, a moderated discussion with Mayor John J. Tecklenburg and local business owners, plus presentations of MWBEs Spotlights and Black-owned Micro-Business Opportunity Grant recipients
- Small Business Workshops including: Federal Contracting for Veterans, Chats to Contracts, Access to Capital, Marketing: New Reality of Growing & Expanding Your Business, Legal Basics for Latinx Businesses, and more
“If you are looking to grow your business in 2023, this is the expo to attend,” said Ruth Jordan, the city’s Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Managers. “Being in the right place at the right time makes a difference and will lead to intentional success.”
