CofC’s Arnold Nemirow Lecture Series Welcomes Father Patrick Desbois
The Zucker/Goldberg Center for Holocaust Studies and the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program will host Father Patrick Desbois for the Annual Arnold Nemirow Lecture Series at the College of Charleston. This event is free and open to the public.
Father Desbois is one of the premier voices for human rights, Holocaust remembrance, and genocide prevention in our times. He has devoted his life to confronting antisemitism and furthering Catholic-Jewish understanding. For years, he and his group Yahad-In Unum have crisscrossed Eastern Europe mapping more than 2,000 sites of Nazi mass shootings and more recently documented ISIS crimes against the Yazidi people in Iraq.
Father Desbois will be discussing his 2008 book, The Holocaust by Bullets: A Priest’s Journey to Uncover the Truth Behind the Murder of 1.5 Million Jews.
“Few have done more than Father Desbois to fight genocide, remember victims, and educate would audiences,” said Assistant Professor Chad Gibbs, Director of the Zucker/Goldberg Center. “We are truly honored to welcome him to our campus.”
The Arnold Nemirow Lecture Series is made possible by the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program at the College of Charleston.
