Law Talk: Wills, Estates and Probate Coming to Cane Bay Library
Berkeley County Library System (BCLS), in collaboration with the South Carolina Bar, is co-hosting Law Talk: Wills, Estates and Probate on Thursday, March 23rd, from 12 pm to 1 pm at Cane Bay Library, located at 1655 Cane Bay Boulevard, Summerville. The three topics will be presented by Malena Dinwoodie, Esquire.
Law Talk is an attorney-led discussion providing free legal education by a volunteer attorney with Q&A following the talk. Customers may visit berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/9789306 to register for this session. Seating is limited.
“Wills, estates and probate are topics that affect every single person, but I have come to learn that they are understood by very few,” said Dinwoodie. “If you own any asset at all – whether it be a house, a vehicle, a bank account, or even just the contents of your home – you have an “estate.” Oftentimes estate assets are required to go through probate to pass to your loved ones correctly. As a former teacher, it is my goal to educate the public and my clients on what constitutes your estate, what controls your estate after your death, and how to ensure that your assets are properly conveyed.”
