Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation Appoints Milton Irvin as New Board Member

The Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of a new member to its Board of Directors as of January 2023. Milton Irvin (right), of Bluffton, South Carolina, earned his MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Mr. Irvin has over 35 years of executive leadership and senior level management experience across the financial service industry. He is a pioneer in leading businesses to achieve growth, recognition, and sustainability using his financial acumen while advocating for diversity. Mr. Irvin began his career at Chase Manhattan Bank and spent 20 years at Salomon Brothers before moving to UBS Investment Bank.

Mr. Irvin was appointed by President Bill Clinton to the Advisory Committee for Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, where he served as chair. He was also appointed by President Barack Obama to the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Governor Nikki Haley appointed Mr. Irvin to serve on the South Carolina State University Board of Trustees, where he was elected chairman and served until 2018.

Mr. Irvin has served on numerous boards around the country, using his extensive experience to provide financial expertise and drive a culture of excellence and inclusion. “Milton is uniquely qualified to serve on our Board of Directors. He has a passion for client service, exceptional leadership skills, and the financial expertise to help grow the Foundation and provide support for those in our communities who experience hunger,” said Pat Walker, Chair of the Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation Board of Directors.

The Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation was established in 2021 as a strategic partner of the Lowcountry Food Bank. The purpose of the Lowcountry Food Bank Foundation is to provide a consistent and sustainable source of funding to support the mission of the Lowcountry Food Bank.
