Website: South Carolina Seeing the Largest Decrease in Gas Prices
LendingTree says their research has determined that South Carolina is seeing the largest decrease in gas prices, nationwide.
The team at LendingTree analyzed data from AAA and U.S. Energy Information Administration to find how gas prices have changed between March 2022 and March 2023. They say they were able to find the states and metro areas where gas prices have fallen the most. Here’s a quick look at what they found:
South Carolina saw the largest decrease in gas prices
Gas prices in South Carolina dropped from $3.48 in 2022 to $3.00 in 2023, a decrease of 13.7%.
4 out of the top 10 metro areas where gas prices have decreased most are in South Carolina, led by Greenville where gas prices dropped the most in the country (17.1%).
- Overall, gas prices are down 7.2%. The average gas price on March 1, 2023, was $3.36 per gallon, down from $3.95 in 2022.
