Press Release

The Koger Center for the Arts will host “The Southern Sounds Music Festival,” an outdoor concert on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, from 5 pm to 8 pm. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on the Koger Center’s outdoor Plaza Stage. The featured performers are Lindsay Holler, Rebekah Todd, and Admiral Radio. This concert will be the first of several planned events at the Koger Center during the upcoming summer season, with the Koger Center continuing to host concerts on Sunday evenings.

The Koger Center director, Nate Terracio stated “I am excited that Admiral Radio is part of the musical talent kicking off our outdoor music series, as they opened our new Live in the Lobby: Southern Sounds programming in January.” Admiral Radio is among the most recognized bands in the Midlands, known for their unique sound that combines Americana, bluegrass and country. They have been a featured band in music festivals across the east coast. Lindsay Holler is one of the founding members of the band Matadero but also performs as a solo singer and guitarist. Holler was a finalist for the 2016 NPR Tiny Desk Contest and has been featured in the Post & Courier’s “No Intermission” series. Rebekah Todd is originally from Benson, NC, and brands her style of music as “cosmic soul rock.” The Koger Center expects that the excitement garnered by this event will prompt repeat supporters for the summer series.

Bring a blanket or a chair and join us on the lawn in front of the Koger Center where there will be food and drink available for purchase from local food trucks during the festival. Participating acts will also sell merchandise. For more information, contact the Koger Center for the Arts at (803) 777-7500, or email kogercenter@sc.edu.
