Grand Bohemian Gallery to Host Pop-Up Show from Artist Jenan McClain

The Grand Bohemian Gallery will showcase works by Charleston-based painter Jenan McClain in a pop-up show running from April 7th to May 21st, 2023. The exhibit will be held in partnership with The Miller Gallery.

Jenan has been passionate about painting since childhood. Her art flourished after a series of life-changing events, allowing her to tap into the intuitive process behind the brush. She attended the Fine Arts Center in Greenville, SC where she first experienced the beautiful beginnings of meditative creation. Through her travels, she often found inspiration in her natural surroundings, which  governed many of her earlier works. Drawn to the calming yet powerful

sustaining life force of water, McClain found inspiration from this natural element. Primarily working in acrylic and oil  pastels, Jenan’s most recent body of work is strongly influenced by the salt marshes and lovely  florals of the Lowcountry coast. Her work is heavily textured and the rich vibrancy of her emotional pieces are felt through fabulous colors and lavish layers. Jenan McClain will be holding a Meet & Greet Reception on Friday, April 28th from 5 pm to 7 pm, with a poetry reading at 6 pm. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
