Dorchester Paws Reunites 18-Year-Old Dog with its Owner After Missing for 3 Years
Last week, Binky aka Mr. B (an 18-year-old dog) arrived at Dorchester Paws. Binky (right) came into the shelter presenting with being severely matted, malnourished, had overgrown nails, rotting teeth, covered in fleas, and with a whole slew of other medical issues that required immediate attention due to his age.
Upon intake, Mr. B. was completely shaved, received a full medical workup, and received the life-saving medical treatment he so desperately needed. While cleaning him up, the staff scanned for a microchip and found out his owners live six hours away from Summerville.
When the owners were contacted, they told the shelter that Mr. B had been missing for over three years. They were absolutely devastated when he wasn’t found and hoped he would someday be found and scanned. They waited by the phone for years, waiting for the call that they finally received on March 19th, 2023.
With the effort of a dedicated volunteer, Binky returned to his family after 3 years. Mr. B can now rest peacefully with the family that rescued him from a shelter years ago.
