Evening Post Books and Charleston Library Society to Host Cocktail Party Celebrating Southern Literary Scene
Evening Post Books announced that they are hosting a cocktail party to celebrate the Southern literary scene. On May 10th, the business will throw a cocktail party, titled “Lowcountry Voices,” at the Charleston Library Society from 5 pm to 7 pm.
“Lowcountry Voices” celebrates Charleston’s unique literary community. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and chat with local authors, booksellers, and publishers while they browse the famous Charleston Library Society reading room and enjoy drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
The event will also be the exclusive pre-debut of author Kristen Ness’s novel At Loggerheads. Buxton Books will sell signed copies before the book launches to the public, so guests can grab their own before it hits bookstore shelves.
All authors attending Lowcountry Voices will be available for discussion, book sales, and book signings. The list of authors includes:
- Kathryn Smith – Baptists & Bootleggers, Gertie
- Virginia Beach – Rice & Ducks, A Wholly Admirable Thing, American Landmark
- Lindy Carter – The Rice Birds
- Adam Parker – Us: A Journalist’s Look at the Culture, Conflict and Creativity of the South
- And many more
“We look at this as a uniquely exciting way to bring together the minds and voices of Charleston’s burgeoning literary renaissance,” said Pierre Manigault, Chairman of the Board for Evening Post Publishing.
