City of Charleston Seeking “Service-Minded Individuals” to Apply to Local AmeriCorps VISTA Program

The city of Charleston is currently seeking individuals to serve in the local AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America program.

Since 2011, the city has served as the project sponsor for the AmeriCorps VISTA program, in which members support local non-profit organizations to make sustainable changes in areas that affect poverty, such as education, public health and economic opportunity.

Through activities such as fundraising, grant writing, research and volunteer recruitment, VISTA members will gain professional experience and leadership skills and receive a modest stipend for their work. Anyone 18 years of age or older is eligible — although most positions require a bachelor’s degree or some college — and can apply, here: https://bit.ly/3TW5Djt.

Members in the full-time, yearlong VISTA program will support the following organizations:

In addition to the yearlong positions, there are VISTA Summer Associate positions available for members to serve from May 30 to August 8, 2023 with the following organizations:
