Charleston Guitarist & Songwriter Grace McNally Announces Debut Album
Charleston-based guitarist and songwriter Grace McNally will release her debut album, Full Circle on May 4th. McNally says the record “re-imagines southern music traditions and Latin American folk songs with a fusion of Afro-Brazilian and Cuban influences.”
“When I first started working on Full Circle, I wanted to create a body of work that illustrates the musical continuities between West Africa, Charleston, Central America and South America,” she said. “Inspired by my travels to each of those respective places, Full Circle is a collaboration, an effort in preservation and an ode to the beautiful world that we call home.”
The album also features some local favorites – The Plantation Singers, Gino Castillo, Jonathan Lovett, Marcus Amaker, Ron Wiltrout, Abdiel Iriarte, Brett Belanger and Tim Khayat.
To celebrate, McNally is hosting an album release party at Clerk’s Coffee inside the Emeline hotel on Thursday, May 4th at 6:30 pm and an album release concert showcasing the entire album performed live on Sunday, May 7th at 7 pm.
