Celebrate Earth Day with the Tour De Earth 2023 Environmental Bike Ride
The Charleston Climate Coalition and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance Charleston invite you to join them for their Tour de Earth Day 2023 event on Sunday, April 23rd in downtown Charleston. Participants will ride bikes around the peninsula learning about current environmental issues and opportunities for change. The event runs from 1 pm to 5 pm and begins at Hampton Park.
“Tour de Earth Day is an opportunity to see firsthand the marshes, gardens, farms, and environmental justice hotspots of downtown Charleston,” said Belvin Olasov, Co-director, Charleston Climate Coalition. “We hope folks will leave feeling more connected to the environmental issues and triumphs of the City.”
Riders can expect educational talks, art, activities, and firsthand looks at urban greenspaces. Partners for stops along the Tour de Earth Day ride include the Marsh Project, Enough Pie, Friends of Gadsden Creek, Green Heart Project, Lowcountry Action Committee, MUSC Urban Farm, and more.
Individuals should bring their own bikes, and come before the 2 pm kickoff to decorate their bikes with greenery and flags. Food and drinks will be provided along the way.
