5th Annual “May the Dogs Be With You” Festival Set for Saturday

This Saturday, May 6th, Lowcountry Dog Magazine, Hollywood Feed, and Charleston Parks Conservancy will host a free, family-friendly adoption event: “May You Dogs Be With You…Revenge of the Sixth!.” The event will be held in Magnolia Park at 720 Magnolia Road from 2 pm to 6 pm.

Every year dog lovers and Star Wars fanatics alike come together at the “May the Dogs Be With You” Festival to celebrate Star Wars Day, May the Fourth. This Star Wars-themed dog-friendly event will have live entertainment by local funk/rock band The Hibachi Heroes; local food trucks like Roti Rolls, My Big Fat Greek Trailer, and Booze Pops; a variety of dog and craft vendors; and a pick-your-prize raffle to raise money for the rescues.

Lowcountry Dog will also have brand new Star Wars merch for sale. Attendees are encouraged to dress their pups in Star Wars gear. Live Star Wars Characters from the 501st Legion will be there for photo-ops. There will also be a lure course for dogs needing to release their excitement and a cool-down pup pool.

If you are interested in adopting a new fur baby, arriving at the start of the event is recommended. There will be five rescues and shelters with lots of adoptable dogs and information, including Dorchester Paws, Carolina Poodle Rescue, Carolina Coonhound Rescue, Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue, and Save the Clefts.
