James Beard Award Winning Virginia Eatery Now Selling Famous Products in Charleston
Sally Bell’s Kitchen, a James Beard award winning, Virginia-based eatery, now has a sister kitchen in Charleston and recently began selling their signature potato and mac salads to select retailers in the area.
You can now find their products at places like Bert’s Market, Veggie Bin, NY Butcher Shoppes, Burbage Meats, George & Pinks, and Wisconsin Meat & Cheese.
Founded in Richmond, Virginia by Elizabeth Milton and Sarah Cabell Jones, Sally Bell’s Kitchen first opened its doors in 1924. In 2015 Sally Bell’s won a James Beard Foundation America’s Classic Award. In addition, the eatery, over the years, has appeared on the Food Network and the Cooking Channel, and has been featured in The New York Times, Bon Appetit, Saveur, O Magazine, and Garden & Gun.
While many of the original menu items are still being made today, no item is as popular as Sally Bell’s award winning potato salad. Food Network’s Alton Brown calls it his “personal favorite,” and Charleston’s own Lee Bros. have declared it “the best (potato salad) they’ve ever tasted.”
