Redux Contemporary Art Center Announces “en masse: works by Carson Carroll”

“en masse,” is an exhibition comprised of hundreds of pieces of trash collected from local Charleston beaches and waterways and documented with the cyanotype process. Carroll worked with local environmental organizations to collect the trash. She then sorted, cleaned, and documented each piece to create hundreds of blue and white photograms to be used in the work. The exhibition includes cyanotype paper collages on wood panels surrounded by cyanotype prints that will be attached directly to the wall, creating an immersive environment that can be walked through.
