Spoleto Adds Charleston-based band 2 Slices to Finale Event
Spoleto Festival USA today announced that they have added Charleston-based band 2 Slices to the lineup of the Wells Fargo Festival Finale on June 11th. The event is being held at the Firefly Distillery in North Charleston and tickets are already on sale.
2 Slices is an indie group combining catchy dance beats with synth-pop melodies and psychedelic guitar. They are known “for their contagious take on pop music that has left crowds dancing” (Charleston City Paper). Danny Martin (lead vocals/guitar) began writing and recording solo material under the moniker, 2 Slices, in Ryan Wolfgang Zimmerman’s studio space in Charleston. He connected with an old friend, Brandon Fudge (aka DJ Lazer Cat), and the two started performing live with Martin on lead vocals and DJ Lazer Cat spinning the tracks. They were later joined by Brett Nash (bass guitar) and Justice Jones (drums). 2 Slices is releasing a new single, Figure 8, in June 2023.
2 Slices will begin at 6:30 pm with headliner Tank and the Bangas taking the stage at 8 pm. The evening ends with a fireworks display. Tickets to the Wells Fargo Festival Finale are available at spoletousa.org, by phone at 843-579-3100, or at the Spoleto ticket kiosk at the Charleston Visitor Center (375 Meeting Street). Tickets are $45 (plus fees) for adults; tickets for children aged 6 to 12 are $28 (plus fees); children ages 5 and under are free.
In anticipation of the band’s finale appearance, Martin will take part in a pre-Festival pop-up event at The Whale Craft Beer Collective, presented in partnership with Ohm Radio and Spoleto Festival USA. On May 23rd at 6 pm, Martin will DJ and host Spoleto-themed trivia. Spoleto ticket agents will also be on site, offering Finale tickets at a discount (the discount will only be available on-site during the event).
