Waccamaw Community Foundation Serves as Primary Point for all Disaster Relief Financial Donations

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. – Waccamaw Community Foundation, the Waccamaw region’s only community foundation, is home to the area’s Disaster Relief Fund which is the primary point of financial donations for all disaster relief and recovery efforts in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties. 

Waccamaw Community Foundation collects and distributes funds to VOADs (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster), local organizations like the Salvation Army, The Red Cross, Catholic Charities, and other locally based relief organizations in the wake of natural disasters such as hurricanes and flooding.

The Disaster Relief Fund is designed to support immediate relief efforts as well as long-term recovery efforts when the need arises.

Individuals, businesses, and groups who would like to donate to the Disaster Relief Fund may do so at www.WaccamawCF.org or at the QR code provided so that relief organizations that respond quickly when disasters happen.

“Monies donated to the Disaster Relief Fund will help save lives and personal property in the unfortunate event a significant storm impacts the Waccamaw region,” said Mike Mancuso, the Waccamaw Community Foundation’s executive director.
