Dorchester School District Two Promotes Two Administrators
Press Release
The Dorchester School District Two Board of Trustees met May 22, 2023, and approved the promotion of two District administrators, effective July 1, 2023.
Ms. Rhonda Grice will serve as Director of Business Development, and Mrs. Wramie Spafford will serve as Director of the Adult Education program.
Ms. Grice, who currently serves as Procurement Officer, has worked in DDTwo for 28 years. Her previous roles include Finance Specialist and Certified Personnel Specialist. Ms. Grice began her relationship with DDTwo as an On the Job Training (OJT) student while in high school. She worked in the Finance Office during her Senior year and fell in love with the District and its values. Eventually a contracted position became available in Personnel, and she jumped at the chance to be part of the DDTwo team.
A graduate of Summerville High School, Ms. Grice has lived in Summerville for most of her life. Her three children also had the privilege of receiving their education through Dorchester School District Two, and they are proud graduates of Ashley Ridge High School. In addition to her three children, she is “Gigi” to two beautiful grandchildren.
“I am excited to begin another chapter in my DDTwo career where I will continue to grow and be part of a world class team,” Grice said. “I look forward to bringing my experience and knowledge into this new role and helping to meet the challenges of the District. I am honored to be part of the team that will continue to provide our students with the best learning environment possible.”
Mrs. Spafford, who currently serves as the Adult Education Administrator, has 20 years of experience. Her previous experience in DDTwo includes Middle School English teacher and a Read 180 teacher, Instructional Technology Specialist, and Assistant Principal at Gregg Middle School.
Mrs. Spafford earned her bachelor’s degree in English from The University of South Carolina and her master’s degree in Administration from The Citadel.
“I am honored to be named the Director of Adult Education,” said Ms. Spafford. “I look forward to continuing to serve our community and to provide our students with opportunities to be successful.”
Mrs. Spafford lives in Summerville with her husband, Tiger, and children Grant and Jackson.
Superintendent Dr. Shane Robbins said, “Both of these DDTwo leaders have made a difference for students, staff, and our community. Whether it is Ms. Grice saving taxpayer dollars by finding the best prices possible or Mrs. Spafford helping adult learners to change their lives through education, they embody our commitment to continually raising the bar.”
