Coterie Celebrates Pride Month with Cocktail Benefiting Closet Case Thrift Shop
June is National LGBTQ+ Pride month and to celebrate, the team at downtown restaurant Coterie has put a new cocktail on the menu – the Order of Nature. The libation is crafted with pandan, vodka, sake, lemon and pineapple juice, basmati, and garnished with edible glitter.
“While I was in India in 2018, the Supreme Court in India decriminalized homosexuality by repealing a 19th-century British law that made sex ‘against the order of nature’ – a crime punishable by life in prison,” said Coterie’s owner Jeremy Buck. “This is a modification of a cocktail I was doing at that time while craft bartending in India that is fun, comforting, and now adding a little sparkle for celebration.”
A portion of the proceeds from Order of Nature sales will be donated to Closet Case Thrift Shop – the only LGBTQ+ owned and operated thrift store in South Carolina.
