Lowcountry Juneteenth Week Festival Celebrates Legacy in Black Honorees

The Lowcountry Juneteenth Week Festival is delighted to announce an exciting event as part of its celebration. On Thursday, June 15th, from 7 pm to 10 pm, the festival will host the Lowcountry Juneteenth Week Honors: Legacy in Black at the Wonderer, located at 1705 Meeting Street Rd. in North Charleston. This event will pay tribute to remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions to our community and culture, including Former Police Chief Reggie Burgess, Attorney Thad Doughty, Lawrence “LJ” Huger, Kenya Dunn, and Carlos Dunlap Jr. of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Lowcountry Juneteenth Week Honors: Legacy in Black aims to recognize the historical significance of Juneteenth while celebrating the outstanding achievements of local changemakers. These esteemed individuals have dedicated themselves to creating positive change, improving our community, and uplifting our culture. Through their leadership and unwavering commitment, they have inspired generations and left an indelible impact on our society.

The event promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring live music and dancing that will create an atmosphere of celebration. Delicious light horderves will be served, ensuring a delightful culinary experience for all attendees.
