Mercantile & Mash Welcomes New Executive Pastry Chef

Mercantile & Mash recently welcomed a Christa Smith as their new Executive Pastry Chef to helm the venue’s in-house bakery and breads program

Growing up, Smith admired her grandmother who was an amazing home cook and warm host. She influenced Smith into pursuing her own culinary career with a desire to make people feel the way her grandmother did through her cooking. Smith helps provide desserts and pastries for all of The Indigo Road Hospitality Group’s Charleston restaurants, along with daily baked goods and whole cakes for Mercantile & Mash.
 
Smith also oversees Mercantile’s recently launched custom cakes program, where patrons can choose between seven unique flavors, and even add a complementary message on top.
