Press Release
Calling all yogis! Summer is almost here, and there is no better way to kick off the summer season than to celebrate the sun as it prepares to reach its highest point in the sky. Join Charleston County Parks for a community yoga event in the meadow at James Island County Park, accompanied by live reggae music from Mystic Vibrations. Yoga Fest will be held Wednesday, June 21st from 6 pm to 8 pm.
The event is open to all levels and abilities. Yoga Flow will be hosted by Caroline Nash, while Mind Setting & Meditation will be led by Kat Hendrix. Live music will begin at 6 pm and the yoga program starts at 6:30 pm.
Admission is $30 in advance for ages 13 and up and includes the yoga class, one adult beverage item (for ages 21 and up – ID required), one kids’ food item, and a t-shirt. Pre-registration ends Wednesday, June 21st at 12 pm. Space permitting, on-site registration will be available for an increased fee of $35. Early registration is recommended as the event is expected to sell out. Registration is available at CharlestonCountyParks.com.
A kids’ yoga class will take place at the same time as the regular class and will be hosted by Megan Buchholz. Kids will also enjoy face painting and other activities on site. Kids under 12 are free and not required to register. A registered and paid chaperone is required for participants 15 and under.
After the yoga program, attendees are encouraged to tour the sponsor and vendor village to shop for merchandise or grab some food and drink. Food items will be available for an additional fee.
Pets are not allowed at the event. In case of rain, Yoga Fest will be rescheduled for Wednesday, June 28th.
