WREN, the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network, based in Columbia, announced today it is launching a search for its next CEO.

After eight years of service to the organization, its first CEO, Ann Warner, will step down and work with the Board of Directors to help the organization find its next leader.

“The members of the board of directors and I are profoundly grateful to Ann Warner for her steadfast leadership,” said Beth Ruffin, chair of the board of directors. “Ann has guided WREN since its inception with admirable focus and energy and helped us navigate a truly difficult moment for the health and economic and social well-being of South Carolina’s women and gender-expansive people. Her accomplishments are many, and her impact will be lasting.”

A search committee has been established and has contracted with Koya Partners to conduct the search. Qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply here.

“While this decision was not easy for me, I know that it is time to pass the torch,” Warner said. “WREN has done so much so far, and has an enormous and profoundly important opportunity ahead to shape the future of South Carolina. I am confident that WREN’s best days still lie ahead, and its most important work in service to the people of South Carolina will take place in the years to come.”
