City of Charleston Announces Details of Free Independence Day Concert
The City of Charleston today announced the details of a free Independence Day Weekend concert, presented in collaboration with Charleston Symphony. The free-to-attend concert will take place at “The Joe,” the home of the Charleston RiverDogs, on the evening of Friday, June 30th, at 8 pm. This family-friendly musical event will feature a blend of patriotic melodies and classical favorites.
The Charleston Symphony will be joined by the talented special guest artist, Javetta Campbell. Following the concert, attendees will be treated to a fireworks display.
“We are all looking forward to this extraordinary evening of music, fireworks and family fun,” Mayor John Tecklenburg said. “We hope everyone will be able to join us for this great Independence Day celebration.”
Charleston Symphony will showcase a selection of patriotic music by John Stafford Smith, Sousa, a salute to the armed forces and pops favorites by renowned composers such as Tchaikovsky. Additionally, Javetta Campbell will perform popular songs and Broadway showtunes, and Mayor Tecklenburg will narrate Lincoln Portrait by Aaron Copland.
The event is open to the public and free to attend. Due to limited seating capacity, tickets must be reserved in advance to secure a spot.
