You Can Donate Locally on Give OUT Day (June 28th)

Tomorrow, June 28th, is Give OUT Day, the national day of giving for the LGBTQ+ community, and you can help Charleston-based nonprofit We Are Family (WAF) end Pride Month on a high note by reaching its goal of $10,000 to ensure queer and trans youth can thrive in South Carolina.

This year, donations will directly support two of WAF’s life-affirming programs. See below for more information about these vital programs:

• Trans Love Fund
  • This mutual aid program provides rapid response emergency funds to trans-identified individuals throughout the state. Last year, WAF awarded 54 microgrants to those most vulnerable in our communities
• Mental Health Assistance Program
  • This program increases access to affirming mental health services by connecting LGBTQ+ youth with LGBTQ+ affirming therapists. Since launching this program, WAF has provided more than 2,058 hours of therapy for 163 youth in our region at no cost to them.

With your support, We Are Family can continue to make lasting and measurable impacts on our state’s LGBTQ+ youth.
