The Charleston Museum Kicks Off Summer with Immersive Summer Camps for Kids
Press Release
The Charleston Museum is kicking off summer with three different children summer camp programs throughout summer 2023. Children ages 5 to 10 years old can attend Nature Trailers Summer Camp. At this camp, children will surround themselves with nature at The Charleston Museum’s Dill Sanctuary, a 580-acre wildlife sanctuary located on James Island along the Stono River. Campers get hands-on experience exploring a marsh ecosystem and tracking animals along the trail while learning about archaeology, life in a marsh, Native Americans, and animals.
Children ages 6 to 11 years old can attend The Charleston Museum Summer Camp and STEAM Explorers Camp. At these two camps, children will travel back in time to learn about creatures, customs, and cultures throughout history. They’ll also explore the collections of The Charleston Museum to learn about Ancient Egypt, dinosaurs, animals, pirates and other exciting adventures of the past. Reservations are required for all camps. Each camp includes crafts, activities, and admission to The Charleston Museum or The Dill Sanctuary depending on the location of the camp.
Summer camps for the remainder of the summer are the following:
- Nature Trailers Summer Camp at the Dill Sanctuary on July 3rd, 5th – July 7th, 2023, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
