State Representative Deon Tedder (H.D. 109) on Friday filed his 2nd Quarter State Ethics report with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission and reported raising over $75,000 in the past three months.

Tedder is seeking to fill the vacant Senate District 42 Seat.

“I am proud of our fundraising efforts this quarter,” Tedder said. “We have worked diligently to reach out to our supporters, and they have responded. This shows the tremendous amount of support the people of Senate District 42 have for my Campaign.”

The Senate District 42 Seat became vacant when popular Senator Marlon Kimpson resigned in June after 10 years of service in the State Senate.

Tedder, a local attorney, was elected to the State House in 2020, following the retirement of longtime Representative David Mack (D).

Since announcing his intentions to run for the vacated Senate Seat on March 12, 2023, Tedder has raised nearly $85,000.

“I’m asking everyone in Senate District 42 for their vote and support in this very important election on September 5th,” he said. “I am grateful for the support I have received so far. We need someone that’s serious about improving our public schools, increasing opportunities for high-paying jobs, and ensuring that everyone has access to affordable housing. I’m ready to lead Senate District 42 by tackling these challenges head-on, and that is the kind of leader this district needs.”

The Democratic Primary for the Senate District 42 Special Election will be held on September 5th.
