Battery Travel to Indy for Midweek Match

The Charleston Battery kick off their July schedule with the first of two road matches this week, against Indy Eleven on Wednesday, July 12th. Kickoff at IUPUI Michael A. Carroll Stadium is set for 7 pm ET.
Charleston square off against Indy looking to avenge their earlier defeat back in June at Patriots Point. The state capital club leads the series with a 4W-2L-1D record over Charleston, a mark the Battery will aim to tilt back toward even term.
The Battery (9W-5L-4D, 31 pts) enter Wednesday’s contest following a bye week this past weekend, a welcome break ahead of another summer road stand. Charleston defeated Loudoun United FC, 3-0, in their last match on June 30. Augi Williams and Nick Markanich (two) both found the back of the net.
Indy (5W-7L-5D, 20 pts) stay at home following a 0-1 defeat to FC Tulsa on Saturday. An early strike from Tulsa’s Moses Dyer proved to be enough to lift the visitors past Indy. The Eleven occupy the second-last playoffs spot with a one-point advantage over Tulsa and Loudoun.
Arturo Rodriguez is the player to watch for Charleston. The Mexican midfielder tallied two assists against Loudoun en route to his third Team of the Week selection this season and leads the team in chances created (22).
Aodhan Quinn is one to keep an eye on for the hosts. Quinn leads Indy with five goals thus far and tallied two from the penalty spot in the match against the Battery back in June.
So far this year, Indy lead the league in penalties won (five).
The Battery received a boost on offense and defense ahead of this match as Leland Archer and Fidel Barajas returned from international duty with Trinidad & Tobago and Mexico, respectively.
AJ Cochran will have a chance to return to his old stomping grounds for the first time since joining the Battery and after spending the previous two seasons with Indy.
Deklan Wynne is nearing 100 career matches played in the USL Championship regular season, he currently has 97 to his name.
