Favorite Summer Sips from North Myrtle Beach’s Beverage Industry
Heading up to the North Myrtle Beach area this summer? Here are a few favorite summer sips you could try while there:
Sip: Hammock Light
–
Brewmaster Larry Horwitz shares this light lager was brewed for cookouts where the conversations keep going and the sun never sets. At 4.2% ABV, this unpretentious beer is a modern take on the old-school light lager: unapologetically smooth featuring premium Pilsner malt gently kissed with maize and a sublime ratio of Continental and American hops. Every sip conjures up a refreshing memory, much like the nuanced brewing process that went into making it: cold fermented for at least 28 days with traditional Bavarian lager yeast.

He suggests the best way to enjoy it is during backyard cookouts, boat days, beach hangs, camping and road tripping.

Duplin Winery
Sip: Lilly in the Sky with Diamonds
Created by Duplin Winery manager, Frank Glidden, and videographer Jeffery Yost, this delightful beverage combines Duplin Sweet Lily over ice with a splash of Coke. Frank shares it’s a great way to cool down on a hot summer day, especially when accompanied by some 60’s tunes. You can find the recipe and more here.
Sip: Afternoon Delight
–
From the distillers at The Grand Strand’s first and only craft production distillery, enjoy their Intemperance Vodka with strawberries, basil, lemon, agave and club soda. Another must-try is The Back Porch Sipper featuring their beloved Sweet Tea Vodka. See their featured cocktails here.
Sip: Rose Frose Wine Slushie
–
Following a day at the beach or on the water, this frose slushie is a cool, easy drinking refresher. Insider Tip: enjoy a formal wine tasting on most Thursday evenings focusing on a specific winery, region or wine variety.
