Flyway Completes New Construction for Roadside Blooms

The Flyway Companies are excited to announce the completion of the brand-new Roadside Blooms floral design shop in Park Circle, which will celebrate its grand opening on August 4th. Led by Project Manager Bridges Williams, Flyway began their work on the project as an empty lot with only sewer and water installed, giving the team a blank canvas to create a customized building perfectly suited to the needs of the tenant. 

Flyway’s team collaborated closely with the architect and a team of engineers to ensure the building was completed safely and efficiently. The space receives abundant natural light, which combined with three beautiful oak trees and a curated exterior color scheme, creates a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for customers. The building’s siding features a rainscreen installation, exceeding standard building codes and providing top-notch vapor control and long-term building performance.

Like all construction projects, this one was not without its challenges. The initial site survey revealed that the lot elevation was lower than indicated on the plans, so Flyway raised the building’s foundation to prevent potential water collection issues, which then required the installation of additional stairs, handrails and an ADA-compliant ramp to ensure accessibility for all visitors. Adjustments were made to comply with safety regulations, including moving the building back to a safe distance from recently installed power lines and coordinating with multiple licensed professionals and municipal authorities to connect the dedicated sprinkler line to the water main on McCarthy Street.
