Website: North Charleston is One of the Least Safe Cities for Drivers
MarketWatch Guides’ today released a report on The Most and Least Safe Cities for Drivers in 2023 and they ranked North Charleston as being one of the least safe in the country.
To learn which cities were most hazardous for motorists, the company looked at each state’s fatal crash statistics, DUI arrests, and rates of car theft. Here’s what they found out about North Charleston:
“South Carolina had a crash fatality rate of 23.1 per 100,000 people in 2021. With a population of 117,586 in 2021, North Charleston was the third largest city in South Carolina, but had the highest rate of auto deaths in the state. There were 23 fatal crashes in 2021, giving the city a rate of 19.6 crashes per 100,000 people.”
