Grand Bohemian Gallery to Host “The Next Original” by Brooklyn-Based Painter Hallie Packard
Grand Bohemian Gallery will host art events with Hallie Packard in August. “The Next Original” artist in residence events will be held on August 25th and 26th.
In November 2022, The Kessler Collection issued an open call to emerging artists across the United States. Out of more than 1,800 artists’ entries, nine finalists were handpicked by Richard C. Kessler to come to Savannah, Georgia to display their work. Each of the finalists inspired Mr. Kessler in their own unique way. During the Awards Dinner, Mr. Kessler named all nine finalists The Next Original Artists of 2022. The chosen winners’ artwork was hung in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, and they received a one-year partnership with the Grand Bohemian Gallery to exhibit their art in The Kessler Collection’s luxury hotel properties and art galleries across the southeastern United States.
Hallie Packard, a fine art painter living and working in Brooklyn, New York was one of these Next Original winners. Her work has been on display in the Grand Bohemian Gallery in Charleston since February 2023.
Packard is inspired by miraculous moments in nature that might seem mundane at first glance, but that sparkle with enchantment, seen or unseen. Growing up with the woods as her playground, she felt a kinship with the natural environment and a deep-seated belief in its magic; a recognition of beauty amidst chaos. Packard’s artworks serve as a reminder of the wonder that abounds and the respect and care it deserves. Her works are dedicated to rediscovering and cultivating the magic of this world.
As part of The Next Original Artist in Residence series with the Kessler Collection, three winning artists will be traveling to the Grand Bohemian Gallery Charleston for fall 2023. Hallie Packard will be the first in this series. Packard will be live painting during an artist reception on back-to-back dates in August 2023.
