Local Nonprofit We Are Family Hosting Free Back-to-School Clothing Swap
Charleston-based nonprofit We Are Family says they are committed to making the transition back to school as easy as possible for local LGBTQI+ youth. Many students struggle to get the school supplies they need, or worry about having proper fitting clothes to wear for the new school year, so We Are Family will host a FREE back-to-school clothing swap on August 27th, from 12 pm to 3 pm, at the Equality Hub in North Charleston.
How does a Clothing Swap work?
Bring two bags of gently used items such as school uniforms, backpacks, clothes, etc. and swap your items for something new!
After participating in the clothing swap, attendees can stop by the Closet Case Thrift Store next door, the only LGBTQI+ owned and operated thrift store in South Carolina. All proceeds benefit We Are Family’s mission to support LGBTQI+ youth in the Charleston area.
The Equality Hub and Closet Case Thrift Store are located at 1801 Reynolds Ave. in North Charleston. Closet Case Thrift Store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 6 pm.
