Transformative Teaching Collective and Charleston Mayoral Candidate, Mika Gadsden, to Host an Evening of Intergenerational Dialogue
On Thursday, August 24th, the Transformative Teaching Collective will team up with Charleston mayoral candidate, Mika Gadsden, for an evening of intergenerational dialogue that will navigate the city’s current social justice landscape via thoughtful conversation with select speakers.
The Transformative Teaching Collective is a worker-owned cooperative founded to promote social justice education in the South Carolina Lowcountry and beyond. Their facilitators are based in Charleston; Durham, NC; and New Orleans. They design and facilitate interactive workshops that invite participants to co-create a deeper understanding of concepts related to human diversity, oppression, solidarity and liberation.
This event is FREE and open to the public, however, attendees are encouraged to RSVP here.
Families, there will be a children’s circle for your kids.
The event starts at 6 pm and will be held in the Redux Contemporary Art Center at 1056 King Street.
