Mayor John Tecklenburg Officially Files for Re-Election
Shortly after noon today, Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg officially filed his candidacy for re-election. He was first elected in 2015 and won re-election in 2019.
Mayor Tecklenburg shared the following statement:
“Being mayor isn’t about big talk, it’s about getting big things done for our residents. And with more than thirty active drainage projects all across the city, the best-trained and most well-funded police and firefighters in the state, and historic investments in neighborhood parks, recreation and workforce housing, we’re getting big things done every day. That’s why I’m still so excited to come into work in the morning–and why, today, I’m respectfully asking our citizens for their support in my final campaign for mayor.”
Filing for the Charleston Mayor and other City of Charleston municipal races opened at noon today. Election Day is November 7th.
