State Representative Wendell Gilliard Receives Endorsement from Local 1442 of the International Longshoremen’s Association

The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), Local 1442, has announced its endorsement of Wendell Gilliard for the open District 42 State Senate seat being vacated by Marlon Kimpson. 

“The members and leadership of ILA Local 1422 have voted overwhelmingly to support and publicly endorse State Representative Wendell Gilliard for the SC Senate, District 42,” said Charles Brave of ILA Local 1422. “Rep. Gilliard is a former Union leader and labor organizer and the only candidate in this race that has shown up for labor every time we’ve called. He’s the only candidate who showed up for us when we fought to protect our work at the Hugh Leatherman terminal. He’s the only candidate who showed up when we took our fight to Governor McMaster. And, the only candidate that we trust will show up for is everyday in the SC Senate. For all of these reasons and more, we are proud to endorse and actively organize to elect Representative Wendell Gilliard as our next Senator for District 42.”
