E3 Foundation Receives W.K. Kellogg Foundation Grant

E3 Foundation is proud to announce it is the recipient of a $100,000 grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation (WKKF) to further its work of ensuring those most impacted by inequities are educated, empowered, and elevated to exercise their collective agency in the South. 

“We are extremely humbled and grateful for the Kellogg Foundation initial investment in our work, on behalf of the community.  In a time where organizing and advocacy is even more imperative, this investment will help to significantly advance our ability to move the needle forward for Black and Brown children and families in the Charleston region and across the state of South Carolina,” said LaTisha Vaughn, E3 Foundation chief programs officer.

The funds will be used to build an infrastructure to support the organization’s existing and rapidly growing advocacy work.   In addition, the WKKF funding will strengthen the foundation’s community organizing work, build partnerships with key stakeholders, and increase the organization’s impact over time.  The work of E3 empowers Black and Brown families and educators and raises their combined influence to address the systemic challenges that affect them in education, housing, healthcare, workforce, and transportation in three focus areas.  Those focus areas include their co-creation work with other Black-led organizations, a regional talent strategy purposefully to promote and support a pipeline of Black educators, and community organizing and advocacy.

The E3 Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that works to educate Black and Brown families through culturally competent, relevant, and sustainable engagement; to empower through coalition building of Black and Brown led-organizations, leaders, educators, children, and families; and to elevate Black and Brown communities to act in their power and purpose.

Through this grant, the Kellogg Foundation demonstrates its commitment to advancing racial equity and racial healing, to developing leaders and to authentically engaging communities, while supporting efforts to create opportunities for all children to thrive.
