Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections Closing Due to Hurricane Idalia
Inclement weather conditions associated with Hurricane Idalia have prompted the closure of all Charleston County Government offices, including the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections, starting at 1 pm on Wednesday, Aug. 30th, 2023 and lasting through Thursday, August 31st, 2023.
Early voting for the SC Senate District 42 Special Election Primary will be postponed starting at 12 pm on Wednesday, August 30th, 2023. Voting will resume on Friday, September 1st, 2023.
Charleston County residents can continue to utilize our website, CHSVotes.gov, to access election information and to receive various voter services.
Citizens are encouraged to follow guidance provided by local officials and media outlets. Further developments will be shared by Charleston County Government.
