Dorchester County Information Regarding Reporting Downed Trees and Power Outages

Dorchester County continues to closely monitor Hurricane Idalia which is expected to impact Dorchester County later today, August 30, 2023.
At this time, a tornado warning has been issued for Dorchester County until 12:15 p.m. If a tornado should occur, seek shelter in an interior room and away from doors and windows. Impacts to Dorchester County will also include heavy rainfall, flooding, and strong winds late Wednesday through Thursday morning. .
The Dorchester County Call Center will remain open until Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Please call (843) 832-0393. Our call takers are available to provide accurate and up-to-date information regarding Hurricane Idalia.
Please plan to stay home throughout the duration of the storm and do not walk or drive through flood waters as it can be extremely dangerous and life threatening. Remember to “Be Prepared, Be Aware, and Be SAFE!”
