City of Charleston, Community Partners to Announce Details for Upcoming Charleston Literary Festival
Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, Charleston Literary Festival Executive Director Sarah Moriarty, and Charleston Literary Festival Board Member and Mayor’s Book Club Co-Founder Dr. Kim Cliett Long will hold a press conference announcing details for the upcoming Charleston Literary Festival, including ticket availability and the full list of participating authors. The announcement will take place at 10 am on Thursday, September 7th, 2023, in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 80 Broad Street.
Additionally, during the event, Mayor Tecklenburg will present a proclamation naming September 7, 2023, Charleston Literary Festival Day in the city of Charleston.
Attendees are invited to immerse themselves in this unique celebration of the written word set in the backdrop of historic downtown Charleston. Upholding the Festival theme of “Embrace the Conversation,” the annual event hosts celebrated authors like Adam Gopnik, Simon Schama, Claire Keegan, Rebecca Makkai, A.O. Scott, Safiya Sinclair and Gary Younge to nurture connections and foster dialogues with Festival-goers.
