Dorchester Two Educational Foundation Receives $20,000 in Innovation Awards Fueled by Boeing

The Dorchester Two Educational Foundation received $20,000 in Innovation Awards Fueled by Boeing to support educators and students in Dorchester School District Two.  

Boeing’s support empowers more innovative learning opportunities throughout DDTwo. Eight exceptional educators were selected to each receive $2,500 based on their application outlining their vision of Fueling Innovation in the Classroom. All DDTwo educators were eligible to apply for the program. Now in its second year in DDTwo, the Innovation Awards Fueled by Boeing have provided $45,000 total to DDTwo teachers. 

“Boeing is proud to support programs like the Innovation Awards that encourage educators to bring unique, STEM-based learning methods into – and outside of –  the classroom. This enriching program is inspiring the next generation of innovators by giving students hands-on experiences that require critical thinking,” said Lindsay Leonard, Boeing’s Senior Director of Government Operations.

“The Foundation is thankful for community leaders like Boeing for making direct investments into our classrooms today to support a thriving community tomorrow,” says Ralph Hayes, D2EF Executive Director. “We are grateful to have Boeing as a great neighbor and community partner.”

Dorchester Two Educational Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) that builds partnerships and raises funds to support DDTwo teachers and students. The Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million to DDTwo over the past eight years. Dorchester School District Two is one of the lowest funded school districts in South Carolina, making the Foundation vital to supporting our teachers and fueling innovation in our classrooms.
