Charleston County Opens Charleston Homes Program Phase II

Charleston County Community Development and Revitalization Department is seeking requests for applications (RFA) for phase II of the Charleston Homes Program. Applications are available online now. In February 2022, Charleston County Council approved the purchase of 18 homes from the Charleston County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. The properties will be preserved as attainable housing. The County has designated 16 of those homes for rehabilitation through the Charleston Home Program.

The program allows interested parties to submit site-specific applications to rehabilitate the County’s existing homes into safe, livable, attainable housing units. Properties will be deeded over to selected partners upon renovation completion to the affordable housing inventory in Charleston County as rentals, home sales, or another related initiative.

The deadline to submit applications is October 4th, 2023.

• 6992 Vista Court, North Charleston, SC 29406
• 2017 Bishop Drive, Charleston, SC 29414
• 7646 Allwood Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29418
