“Touch-A-Truck” Returns to Mount Pleasant on October 21st
“Touch-A-Truck,” a family-focused event sponsored by She’s the Veteran, a local non-profit serving active and inactive female military veterans, will return to Mt. Pleasant on October 21st from 10 am to 2 pm.
The event, which provides an opportunity for children to engage interactively with trucks and vehicles provided by local businesses and services, will be held at Moultrie Middle School (645 Coleman Boulevard).
“Our first Touch-a-Truck was a huge success, with over 100’s of people in attendance,” said Brooke Jackson Kahn, executive director of She’s the Veteran. “The kids had a ball.”
She’s the Veteran focuses on helping female veterans improve their mental health with programs that bring the female veteran population together, as well as spearhead research and development efforts designed to aid mental and physical health.
Last year’s event boasted fire trucks, emergency vehicles, military trucks, heavy equipment, garbage trucks, police cruisers, and more.
This year’s event will also have a variety of food trucks including Miller’s All-Day, MacDaddy, Big Tent Pizza, Barista Bear Coffee, and Cotton Sky Ice Cream. Plus, a few surprise superheroes are slated to make an appearance.
Admission will be $5 per person, with children under 2 free. Tickets can be purchased here.
