Florence Crittenton Announces New Board Leadership
Press Release
Florence Crittenton Programs of SC (FCP) is excited to introduce Jamee Haley, Tara Palmatier, Sheri Cooper, and Jenna Braddy as the Executive Committee of its Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term.
“I am so thrilled to have such a strong group of women leaders shaping the future of our organization” said Cheryl O’Donnell, Florence Crittenton’s Executive Director.
Jamee Haley was appointed President. Jamee is the CEO of Jamee Haley Consulting. She is a strategic advisor with expertise in nonprofits including start-ups, fund diversification, federal grants, social enterprises, coalition building, finance, board development and strategicplanning. Prior to starting her consulting firm, Jamee served as the Co-founder and Executive Director of Lowcountry Local First since its inception in 2006. Through her leadership at Lowcountry Local First, Jamee worked to level the playing field for the local independent business community and develop innovative strategies so that all might have the opportunity to prosper. Lowcountry Local First is now regarded as one of the most successful local economy organizations in the country due to their ability to fill the gap in the business ecosystem through advocacy with both elected officials and the community at large; providing technical support, training, and affordable workspace; and through building a network of businesses that are part of the relationship economy.
“As a daughter and a mother I chose to be part of Florence Crittenton because I understand the power of giving young women agency no matter what their circumstances,” said Haley. “I have an interest in seeing those we often underestimate succeed on their own terms. This is a pivotal moment for Florence Crittenton and I look forward to working with the board and the leadership team as we embark on the next chapter of the organization.”
Tara Palmatier, Professional Services Director at Blackbaud, was elected Florence Crittenton’s Vice President. Her background in managing large global delivery teams across portfolios and solutions makes her an expert in leveraging data to optimize teams and delivery. Blackbaud strongly encourages and empowers their senior leaders to serve non-profit boards and when given the opportunity, Tara selected the local Florence Crittenton chapter as that organization to serve and has enjoyed every moment supporting the mission. As a woman and a parent, she sees the tremendous value of an organization focused on supporting such a vulnerable population; South Carolinas parenting and pregnant youth. Tara believes the programmatic approach Florence Crittenton takes to ensure the women and children in their care are being set up for long term success, sustainability, and resiliency, is paramount to our society.
“l am honored to accept this new appointment of Vice President and look forward to supporting and measuring the outcomes of this amazing organization,” said Palmatier.
Sheri Cooper, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President for Palmetto Railways, will continue to serve at the Treasurer. Sheri is a CPA brings over 20 years of experience from her career in Public Accounting, Financial Services, Land Development and Healthcare. Sheri is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. In addition to being on the Board of Directors for Florence Crittenton, Sheri is a member of the American Short Line Regional Railroad Association and serves on the Board of Trustees at Mason Preparatory School in Charleston. She also volunteers in the Child Life department at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
“I volunteer at FCP of SC because I want all girls to have the knowledge and opportunity to be successful,” said Cooper.
Jenna Braddy was elected Secretary. Jenna is a Managing Director at Greystar, serving as the leader of the Employee Equity Team under the Office of the CFO. In her multi-disciplinary role, Jenna works across the organization to manage the accounting, legal, tax, compliance, and investor reporting for the employee equity programs. Jenna is a licensed CPA with a Master of Accounting from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Richmond. She has over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance and has been actively involved in the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives at her business organizations. Jenna lives on Johns Island with her husband, toddler, golden retriever and cat.
“I joined the Florence Crittenton Board because I believe it’s more important than ever to support young women in our community. And as a new mom myself, prenatal and post-partum care for moms and babies are top of mind. Ultimately, I hope to make a positive impact on the lives of these young women and children to set them up for a successful, fulfilling future,” said Braddy.
