Charleston County and the City of Charleston Team up for Electric Vehicle Education Event
Press Release
Charleston County Government and the City of Charleston are hosting a Drive Electric Charleston event as part of National Drive Electric Week. The event will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about electric vehicles. It will be held Saturday, September 23rd, 2023, from 12 pm to 4 pm at Tradesman Brewing Company located at 1647 King Street Extension.
Residents will be able to talk to electric vehicle owners, learn about at-home charging, and possible tax incentives. The event will also showcase electric bicycles, a sun-powered car, and food trucks. Attendees will have the opportunity to win raffle prizes provided by event vendors.
“We are excited to give Charleston County residents the opportunity to talk to industry experts about electric vehicles, charging, and available tax incentives,” said Charleston County’s Sustainability Manager Arielle Gerstein. “Charleston’s National Drive Electric Week event will provide our residents with more information on electric vehicle ownership.”
“With zero tailpipe emissions and reduced carbon production compared to their gas-powered counterparts, electric vehicles are an important piece of ongoing efforts to build a cleaner, more sustainable transportation future,” said Katie McKain, director of sustainability for the City of Charleston. “We’re excited to be participating in this year’s National Drive Electric Week and encourage anyone interested in learning more to join us on September 23.”
