18th Annual Charleston Walk for Water Scheduled for March 23rd
On Saturday, March 23rd, local charity Water Mission will host their 18th annual Walk For Water at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Festivities begin at 9 am.
During the Walk for Water participants will take a 2-Gallon bucket (provided at the event) and begin to walk a three-mile route. Halfway through the route, walkers fill their bucket with dirty water (to your desired level) and carry it back to the park. The walk is symbolic of the trek that millions of people make to collect water in developing countries.
Water Mission is a “nonprofit Christian engineering organization providing sustainable safe water and sanitation solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas.”
