CofC Opera to Explore Love and Death Through Musical Theater and Opera Scenes
The College of Charleston Opera in the College’s Department of Music trains the next generation of opera artists and is proud to showcase their talents in a concert of opera scenes and musical favorites. Directed by voice faculty members Saundra DeAthos-Meers and Amanda Castellone, the performance, “L’amour et la mort” explores the themes of love and death. The concert highlights music by Puccini, Wagner, Donizetti, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Gounod, Mozart, and more.
The concert takes place Saturday, Oct. 21 at 5 pm and Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2 pm and 5:30 pm, in the Chapel Theatre (172 Calhoun St.).
