Press Release

Nationally renowned operatic talents are in town for a show and are helping to save one of the Holy City’s signature religious landmarks. Ashley Fabian, originally of Goose Creek and now singing with the Los Angeles Philharmonic will be visiting family and showcasing her operatic soprano talents along with guest L.A. Philharmonic baritone, Ethan Vincent, at the 11:15 am  Sunday service on October 8th. Then Ashley will rejoin with the Trinity congregation at 11:15 am on October 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

Fabian has enjoyed great success among the bright lights of L.A. and Hollywood singing and acting in a variety of roles and appearing on game shows. She and Ethan Vincent will accompany the standout singing talents of the Trinity Methodist Songbirds including current and recently graduated College of Charleston students, Jasmine Crowder, Meleana Cabales, and Lauren Funkhauser with flautist accompaniment by Swati Linder and under the direction of Ashley’s early singing coach and Trinity Musical Director, George Hiatt.

Ashley Fabian will perform as Gilda next month in the Holy City Arts and Lyric Opera’s performance of Rigoletto on November 1st, 3rd, and 5th at the Festival Hall at 56 Beaufain Street.

Bagpiper Amanda Gibson will salute All Saints Day on November 5th at Trinity and the following month, Ashley and Ethan will return to Charleston as part of the Christmas Eve extravaganza at 11:15 am and 6:30 pm. Trumpeters Kyle Lane and Todd Smith will help Ashley Fabian, Ethan Vincent and piper Gibson herald the Savior’s birth.

The historic Trinity United Methodist Church, home to Charleston’s oldest serving United Methodist congregation is located at 273 Meeting Street in Charleston. All are welcomed at Trinity for the 11:15 traditional service each week. Trinity is very approachable from Meeting Street’s sidewalks through the antebellum colonnade, but on-street parking sometimes seems elusive. Limited parking is located in the church lot on Society Street which is best accessed by turning onto Society Street from King Street and entering the church’s quaint walled parking lot anchored by one of downtown’s largest Live Oak trees.
