Technology website Appy Pie today released a study on the Best and Worst States for Tech Startups Amind the AI Explosion and they ranked South Carolina as being the 11th worst in the country.

- Patents: No. 33 – 26.9 per capita
- Startup Survival: No. 33 – 50%
- Tech Workers: No. 35 – 3.5% of workforce
- Tech Firms: No. 38 – 3.5% of all companies
- VC Growth Last Five Years: No. 41 – 166% increase
- Public Funding: No. 46 – $46 per capita
The 10 best states for tech startups are Massachusetts, California, Maryland, Virginia, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Utah.
