Taylor Swift Tickets Raise $15,000 for Homeless Animals at Charleston Animal Society
The crowd went crazy at the Applause for Paws Mystical Moonlight Ball benefiting Charleston Animal Society when two tickets to an upcoming Taylor Swift concert went on the auction block. Three minutes after they were offered, the tickets sold for a mind-blowing $15,000.
“It was actually my husband who started bidding on the Taylor Swift tickets,” said Linda Bakker. “He kept saying, ‘it’s for a good cause!’ Our daughter and daughter-in-law will be going to the concert and they are so excited.”
The Taylor Swift Tickets were just one of dozens of items auctioned off to raise money for the animals. Thirteen items were sold at the gala, with others going to the highest bidders in a silent auction online. One of the hottest items online were tickets to see U2 at the new Las Vegas Sphere. A Bintelli Golf Cart was also raffled off, raising $55,000 at the lifesaving event.
“To see 600 people attend and show their love for our community animals was amazing,” said Gala Committee Chair Cara Bibbiani. “They dug into their pockets and their hearts and did so much for all of the animals who need a second chance.”
